American hip-hop artist Lil Wayne, hit by seizure, was found unconscious in his hotel, leading to the cancellation of the Vegas gig.

Wayne was hospitalized at Northwestern Memorial on September 3 in Chicago, where he was said to have suffered another seizure. He was found lying unconscious in his hotel room at the Westin on Michigan Avenue.

His team tried getting him discharged on Sunday evening to prevent cancelling the Vegas gig, but doctors firmly stood against the decision as it would be too risky.

He had previously suffered a seizure in a cross-country flight, forcing his private jet to make an emergency landing in Nebraska.

He has been an epileptic and suffered from seizures from the time he was a child.

In an interview with MTV's RapFix Live, young money rapper opened up about his ongoing battle with epilepsy and revealed how recurring seizures can strike unprovoked and at any time.

Wayne was set to perform at Drai's Beachclub in Vegas alongside American hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd.

Lil Wayne has cancelled concerts before. He pulled off a concert at the Caribbean island, having suffered a seizure. The same happened at another show at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas in Jan. 2017.

The hip-hop artist not only cancelled concerts because of his sickness. Controversies arose when he called off a concert, while performing at Garden City in Idaho, when a drink was thrown at him from the audience.

He stopped performing at that moment and even contemplated throwing his microphone at the culprit.

Managing to control himself, he hinted that he did not want to earn himself a lawsuit. "Hold on let me tell you something, I don't know if you thought I was a busta but I'm rich so I can't throw nothing back," he further added, after which he cancelled the rest of his concert leaving fans heartbroken.

However, Wayne doesn't let this disease bog him down. In spite of the difficulties associated with epilepsy, he has managed to make great music and even spread awareness regarding this disease. Other artists like Prince, Elton John, Rick Ross and Amy Lee too have put up a strong fight against this oddity.
